As first time buyers, we were rather disheartened when our initial choice of mortgage lender (one whose quote Michelle honestly told us she could not match when we first met with her) asked for a much higher deposit amount than initially agreed. My partner and I visited Michelle around October 2010 in the hope of buying our first house together in Banbury after being declined a mortgage with Santander and Northern Rock. After explaining our situation she realised something was not correct with my credit agency information.
